Meet our Coaches

Joe Walsh

Basketball Head Coach, Co-Founder

More about JOe

Born and raised in Baltimore County, Joe has been playing basketball since the age of 6 when his family of 8 got a front yard hoop. He played throughout high school and briefly at Christendom before two ACL tears sidelined him.

Shortly after his injuries he began his coaching career as Assistant Coach of Christendom’s Woman’s Basketball Team. In 2014 He also took over as Director of Christendom’s Basketball Camps.

The next year he joined the staff of the Men’s Team and now will be returning to the Woman’s team as Head Coach.

Coach Joe has seen the transformative power of sports in his own life, and believes that when they are pursued the right way, sports can be a vital part in a young persons path to virtue.

Jeremy Minick

Basketball Head Coach, Co-Founder

Jeremy Minick has played 15+ seasons of basketball at the middle school, JV, varsity and collegiate levels.

He started at PG every season he played and has attended Division I basketball camps and camps run by DI players and coaches.

Sean O’Reilly

Soccer Head Coach

Sean O’Reilly has coached youth soccer professionally in England and the US for over 5 years. He is certified by the English FA (Football Association) and holds a Level 2 FA coaching license. As a player, he has competed in professional settings in 5 countries. In college, he played NCAA D1 at St. Francis University, earning ESPN Academic All-American Team and Northeast Conference Male Student Athlete of the Year.

Sean currently coaches for FCBEscola Northern Virginia, an academy directed by FC Barcelona and modeled after the renowned La Masia Academy; famous for developing players like Messi, Xavi and Iniesta.

Josh Petersen

Volleyball Head Coach

As head coach of Christendom Volleyball, he led his team to the USCAA Championship Game in 2018. Along the way his team garnered two first team All-Americans, one second team All-American and the Student – Athlete of the Year.

Josh’s teams have ranked in the top 20 in their division for the last three years.Coach Petersen has coached at the club, high school and college level for over over 13 seasons.

Coach Petersen focuses heavily on the fundamentals of volleyball through intensive repetition.

Coach strives to instill a passion and love for the game in each player he coaches.

Jim Conrad

Rugby Head Coach

Jim Conrad has over 16 years of experience playing and coaching rugby. He began playing at Franciscan University in 2002. His first coaching position was at Franciscan as a player/assistant in 2005/06 and he became head coach the following year. Jim started coaching at Christendom in the 2013/2014 school year. At Christendom, Jim has helped grow the program from 4 matches per year to over 20 matches per year, has introduced tournament play to the program and helped bring the program into the Cardinal Rugby Conference. Jim also helped coach the 2017 NSCRO 7’s National Championship Team. Jim also helps with a local youth rugby team in Culpeper VA, where he lives with his wife Emily and their daughter Bridgette.

Dan Schiller

Daniel Schiller has been playing and/or coaching rugby for over 13 years. He began playing rugby in high school at St. Gregory’s Academy. Dan’s passion for the game continued in college at Ave Maria University where he helped start, coach and eventually captain the AMU Rugby Club. In 2012 he returned to St. Gregory’s as a dorm father and assistant rugby coach for the Highlanders who finished the season by winning the Pennsylvania state championship that year. After experiencing coaching high school, Dan returned to AMU to help coach the rugby team in 2014, culminating in achieving a Florida state rugby championship. In 2015 Dan moved to Front Royal and since then has helped coach the Christendom College Crusader rugby team (under the leadership of coaches Theo Smith and Jim Conrad) who won a national championship in Rugby 7s in 2017. Dan Schiller lives in Front Royal with his wife Clare and their three young children, Gabriel, Michael and Miriam.

Theo Smith

Theo Smith has over 27 years of experience playing and coaching rugby internationally. He started playing at 8 years old in middle school and continued to play throughout high school, college and post college in men’s clubs. He has been coaching Christendom College’s Rugby team since 2012 and helped them earn a national title in 2017. He is committed to expanding the game of rugby in the United States at both the college and youth levels.

Elisabeth Walsh

Camp Counselor

more about Elisabeth

Born in the farm lands of Southern Virginia, Elisabeth is the 2nd oldest of 12 and boasts of 55 cousins. After being homeschooled all her life she attended Christendom College and immediately took on a leadership role as a basketball player and RA.

Elisabeth loves working with young men and women and is currently a teacher at Seton High School in Manassas.

This year she will be the Assistant Coach of Lady Crusader Basketball.

Mary Minick

Camp Counselor

More about Mary

Mary Minick has played 12 years of basketball at the middle school, JV, varsity and collegiate levels. Her offseason was filled with summer leagues, AAU tournaments, and basketball camps (both as a player and counselor).

She made it to the State Finals her junior year and the State Semi-Finals her senior year. She scored over 1,000 points during her 4 years at Christendom College.
